The score explores the human voice as a vessel for Valya’s inner world and perceived humanity. Valya - a real spider - is the central character of this 9-minute sci-fi short. In close collaboration with director Gonçalo Almeida, we chose the human voice as the primary means of expression, creating a fragile bridge of empathy between Valya and the spectator.

This approach led to the recording of four voices - Mariana Dionísio, Leonor Arnaut, João Neves and Diogo Ferreira - at Teatro Thalia, interwoven with virtual instruments and synths, with sound capture and music mixing by Tiago Sousa.
