“Lost in Translation” @ Hot Clube de Portugal

I’m very much looking forward to playing again with “Lost in Translation'“, a new project of mine inspired by words that are unique in a specific language. The concert will be streamed only and it will feature André Matos (guitar) and João Almeida (trumpet). You may find more information here and information about accessing streaming here.

We will be premiering new music that I have been writing specific for this group.

Here’s more information about “Lost in Translation”:

Words like Murr-ma (Wagiman, looking for something beneath water only using your feet) or Mångata (Swedish, the road-like reflection of the moon on the ocean) describe singular concepts only imagined by certain cultures in the world.

“The idea of this new project came to me after buying an illustration book about these intriguing words. Some of these mean concepts that other cultures have actually thought about. But, what in the world made a specific culture create a word for it? Some other words translate concepts that are so specific to each culture that you may find it hilarious”

Starting from this unique universe, this new trio explores small musical ideas, combining Jazz and Contemporary Music in a creative and spontaneous way.

I hope you can tune in and please reach out to me for your feedback regarding the concert and this project!
